The Cause
Heart conditions are serious and require prompt diagnosis and treatment. The Cardiac Care Fund supports patients at Delta Hospital that undergo cardiac-related testing, monitoring, and treatment by funding state-of-theart diagnostic equipment - saving lives
The Facts
- Heart disease is preventable and manageable
- Heart disease is a group of conditions affecting the structure and functions of the heart and has many root causes
- Every 7 minutes someone in Canada dies from heart disease
- 40,000 people in Delta have some form of heart disease
- The Cardiac Clinic at Delta Hospital saw over 1,700 patients in 2011 and that number is expected to grow to 2,200 by 2015
- Our ER serves over 28,000 patients annually (many with heart related symptoms)
The Moonlight Gala
- Our annual Gala garners wide-spread media exposure to over 100,000 people through various local channels, such as The Delta Optimist, The South Delta Leader, Delta Cable. As well, the Gala has been featured in the Vancouver Sun business section, The Surrey Now, and Shaw Cable.
- Guests consist of over 200 of our community’s most influential business leaders, decision-makers and individuals.
- 70 sponsors benefit from countless promotion, media and recognition opportunities; our sponsors include national corporations, local businesses, service providers and individuals.

Gift In-Kind (GIK) donations in exchange for sponsorship are valuable to the Delta Hospital Foundation and hospital programs. In order to ensure appropriate recognition, benefits are administered for the GIK sponsorship. The GIK sponsorship must be secured with a written accounting of the fair market value of the GIK. The fair market value of the GIK will determine the level of sponsorship recognition.
