Apr 2011 - Delta Hospital Foundation Challenges Corporate Teams

Delta Hospital Foundation is challenging local business and organizations to participate in the 3rd Annual Walk for Health on 30 April.

Jackey Zellweger, Events Coordinator at Delta Hospital Foundation, explained: “The Walk for Health offers a great opportunity for local businesses and organizations to get into the community and help the hospital”.

“We’ve been spreading the word all over Delta. I’m delighted that we’ve already have over 40 people representing 9 teams from local businesses and organizations like the Kiwanis Club of Tsawwassen, Ladner; Vicki Huntington’s Office; Century Group; and Delta Hospital’s ECU. I am challenging other Delta organizations to register for the Walk for Health. This year we have a special prize for the team who raises the most money.”

The 2011 prize for the Top Fundraising Team is a $200 fully catered lunch sponsored by Thrifty Foods.

The Walk for Health is a community walkathon fundraiser for Delta Hospital on 30 April from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Over 250 enthusiastic walkers participated in 2010 and raised $57,000. Taking place on Delta Hospital grounds, the day also features a warm up with Certified Personal Trainer Shannon Wood of Muscle Memory, live music by Celtic folk band Doghouse, face painting by Nurse Next Door-Delta, and dedication doves within the Forest for our Future.

All teams should register in advance. Registration itself is free. Participants can register as individuals or as part of a team.
