April 2009 - Delta Lions donate $12,000 for Glidescope

Delta Hospital respiratory therapist Stephanie and acute care manager Maureen Morris demonstrate the new portable glidescope to Robert Nanson and President Robin Hewgill of the Delta Scottsdale Lions.
On March 25, members of the Delta Scottsdale Lions presented a cheque for $12,000 to the Delta Hospital Foundation for the purchase of new equipment. The funds were used for a portable glidescope unit, used to assist physicians with difficult intubations in the ER.
Lions President Robin Hewgill, past-President Robert Nanson and Steve Knoblach received a first-hand demonstration of the glidescope and were impressed with just how much easier it made it to assist patients. The new glidescope comes with its own video monitor that allows a doctor to view directly inside a patient’s airway, which can sometimes become difficult to see due to certain types of trauma.
The Delta Scottsdale Lions are well-known for their tremendous service and charitable work in the community. The Delta Hospital Foundation greatly appreciates this generous donation, which allows for the newest equipment that ensures Delta receives the best health care available.
