Aug 2010 - Emma Lea Farms Raises Funds for Hospital

Betty, Kevin and Joanne Husband of Emma Lea Farms on Westham Island have chosen the Delta Hospital Foundation to support this year.
 
Their husband and dad, Robert Husband, was a resident of Delta Hospital’s Residential Care unit for almost nine years until he passed away in February 2010.
 
The family appreciated all the wonderful care he received there, so at its fruit stand on Westham Island it had put a donor jar by each till so people could drop in their change throughout the summer months.
 
Emma Lea Farms also celebrated Canada Day by selling strawberries and ice cream along with hot dogs at its Emma's Ice Cream Stand, with all proceeds going to the foundation.
 
On August 18, the family was extremely pleased to come in with a $3,200 cheque from the event. They asked that $1,000 go directly to Residential Care, as Robert would have wished.
