July 2011 - Mini-Home Lottery Unique

 
July 27, 2011 – The Delta Hospital Foundation’s Mini-Home Lottery is a unique home lottery. The project was spearheaded by community members and is supported one hundred percent by local individuals and organizations.
 
Unlike other Foundations who partner with lottery management companies, the Delta Hospital Foundation’s Mini-Home Lottery was a project completely donated by the community. The concept of the Mini-Home was envisioned by three local residents: Sarah Gallop, Brandon Smith and Danny Christian. With Gallop’s design firm, and Smith and Christian’s construction business, the trio encouraged other residents to get involved and donate their time, resources and materials to the project. In total, 25 local organizations and individuals have given to the Mini-Home is see it through from design to showcase. This has ensured that one hundred percent of the ticket sales go to supporting the Delta Hospital.
 
“This Mini-Home is unlike any lottery I’ve seen”, said Teresa Cooper, Delta Hospital Foundation Executive Director. “Sarah, Brandon, and Danny really wanted to see Delta come together and support the hospital in a fun way. We are thankful this community has made this incredible donation and that it’s receiving such overwhelming support”. 
 
The Mini-Home is a 60 sq. ft. activity centre featuring a two story design, with a full sleeping loft. The prize will be awarded fully furnished, and professionally decorated, with an electrical outlet and free delivery within the Lower Mainland. With two months remaining in the lottery, ticket sales are nearing fifty percent.
 
The farm-themed activity centre can be seen at Emma Lea Farms from July 29 – August 1st, The Quilt & Car Show on August 21, Day at the Farm (Westham Island Herb Farm) on September 10. It will also be available for viewing at the Ladner Village Market through to ticket sell-out.
 
Tickets are $5 and are on-sale now until September 27.
