June 2009 - Envision Donates $11,000 for Cooling Blanket

The Envision Charitable Foundation recently provided $11,000 to fully fund a cooling blanket for the Emergency Room in Delta Hospital. Seline Kutan, the Foundation’s Executive Director was extremely pleased to donate the funds to Delta Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director, Teresa Cooper, for the life-saving equipment.
 
A cooling blanket is used to effectively lower core body temperature after resuscitation from a cardiac arrest. Inducing mild hypothermia and slowing metabolism reduces the risk of brain damage and greatly increases a patient’s chance for survival.  
 
The Envision Charitable Foundation provides much-needed funding to community organizations. Grants from the Foundation help to make a variety of community dreams become a reality – everything from new hospital equipment to educational bursaries. Since its inception, over $1 million in grants has been provided to worthwhile projects such as the cooling blanket for Delta Hospital.
