May 2009 - Compost for Charity

Pat Martin, Operations Manager for Westcoast Instant Lawns was very pleased the first ‘Compost for Charity’ was a big success and he was able to hand over $2,500 to Teresa Cooper, Delta Hospital Foundation Executive Director.

On April 25, Westcoast Instant Lawns offered up free compost to the community for a donation to the Foundation. Customers were able to take as much compost as they could haul away and make a donation. Westcoast then matched the contribution dollar for dollar and at the end of the day were able to give a tidy sum to support Delta Hospital.

“We’re going to make it an annual event for the hospital and next year plan on making it bigger and even more successful,” said Martin. Customers were also treated to free coffee and donuts, along with tours of the large facility, located on 72nd Street in Ladner, adjacent to Boundary Bay Airport.
