May 2010 - Heli-One Donates $20,000 for Surgical Lights

Neil Calvert and Teresa Cooper
CHC Helicopter and its Delta based helicopter-maintenance facility, Heli-One, have continued their support of Delta Hospital by supplying a set of mobile surgical lights.
Valued at $20,000, mobile surgical lights can be easily compacted and moved from operating room to operating room. The lights free up space in the OR and can also be deployed to Delta Hospital’s new endoscopy unit to free up operating room time and allow for an increased number of day surgery procedures.
“This is a great addition to our operating rooms because of the flexibility and improved productivity that is now possible,” said Teresa Cooper, Delta Hospital Foundation executive director. “We rely heavily on the support of corporate partners and Heli-One has shown great leadership and dedication to Delta Hospital.”
Delta, BC-based Heli-One is the maintenance division of CHC Helicopter and is one of the largest helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in the world with facilities in Gander, Norway, Colorado, the Netherlands, Australia, and a presence at dozens of other CHC Helicopter bases around the world. Heli-One also has a rapidly growing third-party maintenance business that provides support to helicopter operators around the world.
“Many of Heli-One’s 350 staff live in this community and Delta Hospital provides essential medical services for many of our families,” said Neil Calvert, president of Heli-One. “We feel it is important to support the communities where our staff live and work and our partnership with Delta Hospital allows us to meet that commitment very close to home.”
