Variety donates over $4,500 for Delta’s Children
 
Delta, November 22, 2011  – Variety – The Children’s Charity donated $4,575 to the Delta Hospital Foundation purchase a pediatric infusion pump – a specialized piece of equipment that helps to administer Intravenous (IV) antibiotics to children.
 
Barbara Hislop, Executive Director, Variety – The Children’s Charity, was extremely pleased to help purchase the infusion pump for Delta Hospital: “Variety is pleased to provide funding for a new infusion pump for the Delta Hospital Foundation. We feel that this important piece of equipment will assist them to continue providing quality care to the children and families of Delta.”
 
Stacey Boyda, Delta Hospital Foundation’s Individual Giving Manager, was ecstatic to receive the funds which will purchase this vital equipment to help accurately administer medication to children: “When a sick child in need of immediate rehydration and anti-biotic treatment enters our ER accuracy is everything. Too much or too little medication can have severe side effects. We are humbled by Variety’s commitment to the Foundation. This equipment will help us provide the best health care for Delta’s children and their families.”
 
A pediatric infusion pump helps treat children by administering the precise dosage of antibiotic over a specific period of time according to the weight of the child. This ensures that best practices are followed and the safety of the child is first and foremost.
